Market: Reims draw no bet
Odds: 2/3 @
Hoping to find a route into the top-four this weekend, Reims will travel to the Stade Raymond Kopa on Sunday afternoon when they meet Angers.
Starting with the hosts, although Angers might have secured a Ligue 1 return for this season, Les Scoistes have a real battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their top-flight status this time around. Missing out on what they had billed as a potential opportunity last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at home against Nantes, Alexandre Dujeux’s men find themselves sat rock-bottom of the table and pencilled in as a leading relegation contender this year. Heading into September’s international break with a nightmare 4-1 drumming at the hands of Nice, Angers have failed to muster a single victory from any of their first five Ligue 1 appearances. Getting proceedings underway on August 18th with a 1-0 defeat at home against Lens, Sunday’s hosts should face another tricky test this weekend. Likewise, continuing on from last season, Dujeux’s side have won just a pair of showdowns at the Stade Raymond Kopa since the start of March.
As for the visitors, while Reims might have opened up the new campaign with a host of heavyweight challenges, Les Rouges have continued to impress. Opening this weekend’s fixtures battling it out in the top-six chase, Luka Elsner’s men have their sights firmly set on punching a European ticket this season. Last seen putting in a gritty performance as they snatched a 1-1 stalemate at home against defending champions PSG, the former Standard Liege boss will be smelling the chance to make a statement here. Heading into September’s international break with an eye-catching 2-1 win against Reims, Sunday’s guests have suffered just a single defeat from any of their first five Ligue 1 appearances. Likewise, last seen on their travels collecting a 2-1 victory against Nantes, the Reds should also be excited by a dominant recent record against Angers. Along with registering seven points from their previous three meetings, they also stormed their way to a 4-2 romp when they last travelled to the Stade Raymond Kopa back in August 2022.
Bet: Reims draw no bet against Angers 2/3 for Sunday s Ligue 1 battle @
