Andrea Pirlo earned 10-man Juventus a dramatic 2-1 victory with a last-gasp winner against city rivals Torino in Serie A on Sunday.

The 35-year-old rifled in from 25 yards deep into second-half stoppage time to cruelly deny Torino and stretch his side s winning run at home in the league to 25 matches.

Juve looked destined to have to settle for a draw after Torino s Bruno Peres scored a superb individual goal midway through the first half, cancelling out Arturo Vidal s twice-taken penalty in the 15th minute.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy could be the man to lead the Emirates club to Premier League glory in 2016-17.

Vardy is believed to be close to a transfer to the 2015-16 runners-up and Keown feels the 29-year-old is just what Arsenal need.

Bayern Munich s France international midfielder Franck Ribery has undergone successful surgery on his ankle and will be back in action early September, the club announced on Saturday.

The 25-year-old, who damaged ankle ligaments in last month s Euro 2008, had a metal screw removed from his left ankle.

The procedure took place without any complication and Ribery has already begun his physiotheraphy, a statement from the club read.

Riether s departure from Fulham continues something of an exodus at the Craven Cottage club following their relegation from the Premier League.

A Fulham statement released on Thursday said: The club can confirm that defender Sascha Riether has joined Bundesliga side SC Freiburg on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old right-back moved to Fulham on a season-long loan from FC Cologne in early July 2012, with the club taking up an option to acquire the player on a permanent basis the following summer.
